Barba Corsini
Barba Corsini (1916–2008) was a Spanish modernist architect and designer celebrated for his refined, thoughtful approach to interiors. Trained in Barcelona and influenced by Mies van der Rohe, Frank Lloyd Wright, and Northern European design, he is best known for his 1950s renovation of the attic of Antoni Gaudí’s Casa Milà (La Pedrera), transforming a former storage and service space into 13 stylish, functional apartments. For this project, he designed bespoke furniture, lighting, and interior details that harmonized modernist aesthetics with Gaudí’s original architectural vision.
Characterized by clean lines, meticulous detail, and timeless functionality, Corsini’s work continues to resonate today. Iconic pieces like the Pedrera table—produced today by the global design house Gubi and sold across Europe, the United States, and beyond—embody his philosophy of powerful simplicity and maintain a presence in contemporary interiors worldwide.
This curated collection celebrates Corsini’s enduring contributions, offering an ode to architectural heritage and modern aesthetic excellence.
