Clara von Zweigbergk

Clara von Zweigbergk is a Stockholm-born graphic designer whose work sits at the intersection of color, form, and material exploration. She studied graphic design and illustration at Beckmans School of Design in Stockholm before continuing her education at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, USA—an experience that helped shape her international outlook and multidisciplinary approach.

Her early career took her across Stockholm, Los Angeles, and Milan, working within leading advertising agencies and design studios. She co-founded Rivieran Design Studio, a Stockholm-based multidisciplinary practice that gained recognition for projects spanning fashion, illustration, architecture, furniture, and graphic design. This period established her ability to move fluidly between disciplines while maintaining a clear visual language.

Von Zweigbergk later spent four years in Milan as a senior graphic designer at Lissoni Associati, collaborating with globally renowned clients including Boffi, Armani, and Alessi. In 2006, she returned to Stockholm to establish her own studio, refocusing on her enduring interests in paper, color, typography, craftsmanship, and form.

Since 2010, she has maintained a close and influential collaboration with the Danish design company HAY, shaping its visual identity and designing a wide range of products. Her broader portfolio includes work for Louis Poulsen, Nike, Holzweiler, Gan Rugs, Røros Tweed, Areaware, Artecnica, TID Watches, and Moustache. Notably, her Cirque Pendant Lights for the storied Scandinavian lighting brand Louis Poulsen reflect her ability to merge graphic sensibility with product and spatial design.

Clara von Zweigbergk’s work is characterized by clarity, balance, and a confident use of color. Widely recognized internationally, she has received numerous awards, including the Bruno Mathsson Award (2016), Designer of the Year (RUM, 2016), the Wallpaper* Design Award (2012), and the Swedish Design Award / Design S (2012).
