In name and in design, Verter Turroni and Emanuela Ravelli of Imperfettolab embrace the unique, handcrafted, and experimental. Inspired by the imperfections of raw materials, the husband and wife duo design furniture, lighting, tableware, and other objects in their Gambetolla, Italy studio. Starting from a common mold, each fiberglass piece is individually sanded, painted, and polished. The result is a piece with a consistent yet wholly unique form. Imperfettolab’s method transforms the appearance of the fiberglass to simulate a variety of materials, from the clay-like texture of the Guscio Tray to the smooth, geometric Diade Accent Table. Imperfettolab also draws inspiration from nature—the Mercurio Seating resembles droplets of mercury, while the Beetle Seating mimics the shiny, multicolored shell of a beetle. These innovative designs have earned Turroni and Ravelli accolades in Elle Décor, Wallpaper, and Marie Claire, among others. Imperfettolab’s pieces are perfectly imperfect, unique works of art that enliven any space.
