Designed by Danish-Italian design duo Stine Gam and Enrico Fratesi of GamFratesi, the Masculo chair explores a singular concept rendered in a multitude of forms courtesy of global design house Gubi. At top, each chair boasts a muscular arm / back unit that demands attention with its powerfully angular curves and near levitating appearance. Beneath, lies an array of delicate frame options ranging from wire-like steel to wood spindle legs. The juxtaposition between upper body power and lower frame delicacy was intentionally designed to challenge the senses as the eye travels over the sculptural series in all its complex simplicity. Available as part of the Gubi furniture collection at Dshop in dining chair, lounge chair, and task chair versions, the Masculo Chair series comes in a wide array of finishes and upholstery options ranging from popular bouclé, leather, and wools for the seat to oak, walnut, and blackened wood stains for the base. The swivel chair and sledge base versions come in a black or chrome finish.
