Private Furniture
Space Copenhagen’s Private collection for GUBI brings modern Danish furniture into dialogue with antique Japanese design. The connection unfolds through balanced proportions, joinery-inspired details and an appreciation for the grain of wood. It reflects the design studio’s approach to “Poetic Modernism,” balancing sculptural presence with everyday function. Minimalist tables and storage pieces feel warm rather than austere, with broad surfaces and carefully framed openings giving each design its quiet architectural character.
The storage pieces explore the relationship between what we display and what we keep tucked away. The Private Sideboard presents a composed wooden façade, with four soft-close drawers and antiqued brass-finished handles. Above, its long surface becomes a setting for lighting, ceramics or artwork. The Private Vitrine reverses that emphasis: a glass display cabinet with framed doors and three glass shelves makes treasured pieces part of the room.
Dining tables and a versatile desk extend this shared design language beyond storage. Available in two generous lengths, the rectangular dining tables balance substantial tops with tapered legs and a solid-wood crossbeam. The Private Desk offers a lighter footprint for working from home and can also serve as a console table. Light Stained Oak, Brown/Black Stained Oak and Brown/Black Stained Ash finishes give the collection a range of expressions, from warm and airy to rich and dramatic. DSHOP’s team of interior design experts can help you explore finish samples, coordinate selections and answer questions about the collection.
