Space Copenhagen’s principals Signe Bindslev Henriksen and Peter Bundgaard Rützou describe their approach to design as “poetic modernism.” The Danish duo established the multidisciplinary design firm in 2005 and have since brought their unique brand of contemporary lyricism to projects around the globe. From furniture design and art installations to high-end interiors - the studio is recognized for creating some of hospitality’s hottest spaces, including the celebrated Noma restaurant in Copenhagen, the award-winning design for 11 Howard Hotel in New York and the restoration of Arne Jacobsen’s iconic Royal Hotel in Copenhagen. In recent years the studio has partnered with top contemporary furniture brands, including Danish manufacturer GUBI, to channel its signature style into fine home furnishings - rolling out contemporary icons like the Stay Sofa and Lounge Chair collection. Like Space Copenhagen’s inspired interiors, its furniture speaks to the studio’s poetic aesthetic - a blending of classic and contemporary, industrial and organic, into singular striking compositions.
