Bagdad Portable Lamp

Originally unveiled in 1954, the Bagdad Lamp embodies Mathieu Matégot’s passion for perforated metal. Rendered in a multifaceted cubist form with a comet-like tail, the newly debuted Bagdad Portable Lamp maintains the sculptural charm and timelessly playful spirit of the original. The 21st-century edition halves the size of Matégot’s 1950s design and adds portability. A touch-activated dimmer offers three brightness levels, and it comes in Black, White, or International Orange. Part of GUBI’s Matégot collection, the Bagdad expands GUBI’s lineup of portable, rechargeable lamps with a strikingly bold and distinctive option.
