Description

Before Marcel Gascoin became celebrated for his wooden furniture, he explored a different vocabulary of slender metal and soft upholstery. His M-Chair, designed in 1937 and brought into production by GUBI through archival research, captures that early vision. A suspended backrest lends the silhouette an airy quality, while tapered legs in matte black give the chair a crisp, graphic outline.

The design’s appeal lies in its balance: generous comfort within compact proportions, softness held in a visually light frame. Equally at home in residential and hospitality settings, the M-Chair takes on a distinct character with each upholstery choice, from quiet, understated fabrics to richer textures that emphasize its inviting form.
