Conceived in 1971 by American designer Bill Curry, the Obello Lamp stands as a playful emblem of the Space Age and Los Angeles’ vibrant pop culture of the time. Curry, celebrated for his bold use of color and inventive forms, pioneered the concept of the “total look” lamp—crafting a single glass piece that eliminated the need for a separate base. Inspired by atomic-age optimism and mushroom-like silhouettes, the Obello captured the futuristic spirit of its era. Tragically, Curry passed away the same year, and the lamp remained only a prototype—never seeing full production in his lifetime.

Reintroduced by GUBI in 2022 in frosted glass, the Obello now embarks on a new chapter with three luminous pastel finishes, each glossy surface accentuating its sculptural elegance. Balancing softness with warmth, this palette transforms Curry’s original vision into a contemporary expression of timeless design.

Hand-blown and frosted to echo the original craftsmanship, the rechargeable Obello features an integrated dimmable LED light, offering up to 40 hours of radiant glow on a single 4.5-hour charge. Fully portable for both indoor and outdoor spaces, it creates cozy, atmospheric lighting while serving as a bold sculptural statement—a whimsical centerpiece or a conversation-starting accent. • Items not in their original intact packaging.
• Items shipped to Alaska and/or outside the contiguous United States.

The Final Phase:

Your returned item(s) undergo inspection upon receipt. For items that arrive in the condition agreed upon at the time of return approval, Dshop will issue an exchange or refund to the original payment method within 10 business days in accordance with the outlined terms above.
