The Tropique Dining Chair, created in the 1950s by Hungarian-born French designer Mathieu Matégot, embodies the timeless glamour of mid-20th century outdoor living on the Côte d’Azur. Combining material simplicity with a luxurious aesthetic, its stainless steel frame features a distinctive curved detail at the feet, a hallmark of Matégot’s style. The chair has received notable recognition, winning the Monocle Design Award for ‘Best Patio Pick,’ and is available in solid colors of smooth white and beige, as well as new nautically inspired striped options in white and orange or white and blue, complete with optional tasseled fringes for a bohemian touch.
