VL 56 Pendant

Famed Danish functionalist architect Vilhelm Lauritzen designed the VL 56 Pendant light for Folkets Hus (the people's house) in Vesterbro Copenhagen. Originally designed for the Danish Labor Movement, Folkets Hus first opened its doors in 1956 and after several incarnations, now serves as the Vega concert hall. From the beginning, Folkets Hus was a gesamtkunstwerk or 'total work of art', meaning that Lauritzen designed every detail from the doorknobs to the stairs to the furniture and lighting. Today, Lauritzen's VL 56 Pendant still hangs on the site just above a wood-paneled bar area. In 2023 the lighting specialists at Louis Poulsen reintroduced this iconic piece of Danish modern lighting after applying some subtle improvements to the piece. Minimalist in form yet maximal in shine and impact the VL 56 Pendant stands as a testament to the timeless nature of exceptional design.

• Items not in their original intact packaging.
• Items shipped to Alaska and/or outside the contiguous United States.

THE FINAL PHASE:

Your returned item(s) undergo inspection upon receipt. For items that arrive in the condition agreed upon at the time of return approval, Dshop will issue an exchange or refund to the original payment method within 10 business days in accordance with the outlined terms above.
