Driven by a passion for fine craftsmanship and fascination with natural forms, designer Asher Dunn founded his eponymous Rhode Island based design studio, Studio Dunn, at the tender age of 23. Today, the brand's body of lighting design explores an array of forms and materials, while collaborating closely with local artisans and suppliers to create heirloom quality, contemporary American classics with an emphasis on sustainability. From Dunn's sleek, sea kelp-inspired Sorenthia lighting to his timeless Linden Table Lamp - Asher's lighting designs have landed him on such illustrious lists as Vogue’s 'Ten Contemporary Designers to Collect Today,' Forbes’s '30 Under 30,' and New England Home’s '5 Under 40.' When the studio's founder isn't sharing his design and entrepreneurial expertise with students at RISD and the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship, he continues to expand his forward-looking collection of minimalist chandeliers, contemporary pendant lights, modern table lamps and sconces, all while ensuring his existing pieces are crafted with the utmost passion for quality, beauty, and detail.
